MIAMI - 4Aces Golf Club has seen plenty of success at the Blue Monster, and while the team didn’t make the podium at LIV Golf Miami, there were plenty of positives to take away as the season continues to progress.

The team started hot but couldn’t quite keep the momentum going before finishing in eighth place at Trump National Doral Golf Club. 4Aces GC stands seventh in the season-long team standings and is in prime pouncing position to make an upward move when the season resumes.

The team began the week exactly how it wanted. It stood in third place after the first round as Patrick Reed led the way with a 3-under 69. Captain Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III carded nice 2-under 70s on Friday in windy conditions and it proved to be a nice combo considering Pat Perez got off to a slow start with a 2-over 74 for a non-counting score.

Looking to continue its excellent scoring, Reed once again got into a groove and shot a 3-under 69 in Round 2, and Johnson added a solid 1-under 71 for his team’s only other under-par score on Saturday. The team had to count Harold Varner III’s 2-over 74 due to Perez posting a 3-over 75.

Trying to rebound in the final round, Reed continued to take charge and posted an even-par 72 while Varner III bounced back nicely with a 2-under 70 for the team’s best score of the day. With all four scores now counting on Sundays, Johnson (2-over 74) and Perez (4-over 76) couldn’t quite get it going, and the team found itself in the middle of the pack.

Johnson and Reed will put Doral behind them quickly as they head to Augusta National Golf Club this week. The former Masters champions will be two of 13 LIV golfers competing in the year’s first major.
