4ACES GOLF CLUB: RECAP, LIV GOLF JEDDAH ROUND 3
4Aces Golf Club is exactly where it wants. Now it’s time to take full advantage of it in South Florida.
The team ended the regular season atop the season-long team standings after a solid showing at LIV Golf Jeddah presented by ROSHIN. 4Aces GC entered the week 188 points, 10 more than second-place Crushers Golf Club. And after Crushers GC made a run Saturday, 4Aces GC countered on Sunday to secure the top spot.
A gutsy team effort in Round 3 was the reason. 4Aces GC combined to shoot 15 under on Sunday while Crushers GC could only combine for 6 under. That narrowed the gap just enough, and 4Aces GC cemented the top position with a season total of 192 points, just six more points than Crushers GC.
That means 4Aces GC, which has two team wins this season, will earn a first-round bye at this week’s Team Championship in Miami. It’s a much-needed time to rest considering the players are traveling from Saudi Arabia to the United States.
Captain Dustin Johnson led the way in Jeddah and totaled 11 under for the week – including a 5-under 65 on Sunday – to finish at sixth on the individual leaderboard. Teammates Patrick Reed and Peter Uihlein did their parts to help the team with Uihlein finishing 8 under for the week and Reed ending the event at 7 under. Pat Perez exited Jeddah going even par for the three days.
Johnson, Reed and Uihlein finish the regular season well inside the Lock Zone and are set for 2024 while Perez ends the regular season in the Open Zone.
